The news piece quoted below was found in a Bemuda News Website.

The article wrongly quotes the Puerto Rico Islanders as the team that will participate in the two friendly games.

We have confirmed with Puerto Rico Islanders  management that these two friendlies are part of the training program for the Puerto Rico National team that is currently praticing for a week at the Albergue Olimpico in Salinas.
The Puerto Rico National team coach is Colin Clarke, and the Puerto Rico Football Federation has also hired an Assistant Coach from the Premier League in England (he is also already in Salinas). Additionally there are several Puerto Rico Islanders players that have joined the Puerto Rico National team including:

Marco Velez, Mime Ortiz, Alexis Rivera (injured, might not play), Noah Delgado, Petter Villegas, Josh Saunders, Mike Behonick

Among the other players that will also be joining the Puerto Rico National team are:

Saito Nieves (Islanders B), Carlos Torres (Islanders B), Carlos Astondoa (Fraigcomar), Chris Megaloudis (USA-PR), Andres Cabrero (Conquistadores).

Bermuda can't take Puerto Rico lightly
Puerto Rico will provide tough opposition for Bermuda, despite their lowly world ranking.

That's the verdict of Bermuda Football Association President Larry Mussenden who insisted the two friendlies scheduled for January 16 and 18 would be a good warm up for the World Cup qualifiers against Cayman.

They are currently ranked 196 out of 207 in the world and have not won a games since 1993 when they beat Cayman 4-0. Their last game was a 3-1 defeat to Guadeloupe in October 2005.

But football in Puerto Rico, where American sports like basketball and baseball dominate, is making a resurgance with the success of the country's professional team in United Soccer League.

The Puerto Rico Islanders compete in the USL Division One - a tier higher than the Bermuda Hogges - where they reached the play-off semi-finals last year.

The pro team relies heavily on South American imports but does have a core of Puerto Rican players, with the likes of Marco Vélez, Alexis Rivera, Joshua Norkus, and Dan Kennedy benefiting from involvement at the pro level.

Mussenden said their experience in the USL would make them a tougher opponent than their ranking suggests.

"Please don't dismiss Puerto Rico because of their world ranking. They have a professional team and a lot of their players compete in a Central American league. I think we will have our work cut out."

Mussenden said the two games against Puerto Rico would not necessarily be the only fixtures before the Cayman game in February.

"We are always looking to get more matches and it is possible that one of our CFU colleagues may call us up and invite us for a game. We are always looking for opportunities to play some competitive matches."

It is also possible that Bermuda could play further friendly matches before the second leg of the Cayman game in March, with New England Revolution, who visit in February, the likeliest opponent. "That is probably something we could work out. We have a good relationship with New England and that could be arranged but nothing is concrete at the moment," he said of a potential fixture between the two sides.
