After you pass the castle/Armory it does become seedy (1/2 mile)...I often cut through to the cranston path that way. I only to get looks because I look like a guy in racing gear on cool bike sort of look. I live in the West end.

But am also weary of that stretch...mostly because of idiot driving seems to be in sinc with the same from pedestrians....some days there are neither and it is quite a pleasant stretch of fresh pavement.

Be careful of paydays and liquor store traffic. Time of day type thing with school kids/gangs and your basic homeless to East-sider trying to score.

General rule smile...don't stop. Never an incident.
