Hey Syl.
I often take Elmwood ave through the city (wider shoulder)…. You can do the same to get you in the general area.
East Bay bike path to Henderson Bridge (let’s hope the Washington will be done soon)
Over to the East side to get you to Point Street Bridge (use your imagination)
Continue on Point street over 95, on to Friendship/ Lockwood (I know against traffic, but no one is there)
On to Broad street, to Elmwood ave, left on Carter to Huntington ave.
This will take you to Cranston Street, but only for a short while
Left on to Cranston Street then Left onto Garfield Ave.
If memory serves me right… you can pick up the Cranston Bike path just past the shopping mall.
Left onto the Bike path and cruise till East Road and head toward the malls and Front Entrance to CCRI
Or Continue down the bike path to the next intersection, Providence st/Toll gate rd. and head up Toll gate road (115), There is a back entrance to CCRI from Toll gate Rd, but not sure what time it opens, or if it still open.
HTH… there are other ways, but they are a little more out of the way. Just use your head, and be safe.
Keep in touch

Subject: [providencevelo] need
help w/ finding good commuting route!
Hi,
I am hoping to start commuting to work as soon as the weather warms up
just a touch. I will be commuting from Borrington to CCRI in Warwick.
I mapped it online and tried to connect the east bay bike path to the
one in Cranston/warwick. At this time I have to cross over into Prov
on the Henderson (red) bridge, grab Westminster over 95 and then onto
Cranston street over to Route 10 to then hit the start of bike path
there. As I was venturing down Cranston street though, I seemed that
this area was most likely not my best route to ride 2x day especially
on a shiny new bike (which is all I have right now).
Any one know the area well? Were my impressions correct (ie: good
place to get your hard drugs, not great to ride your bike in) Any one
have any suggestions for bypassing this area? Thanks
syl
