We're looking at some cold weather this weekend, but that has never
stopped us from playing polo. Certainly there will be chukkers this
weekend and we may take a trail ride either Saturday or Sunday to mix
it up in the brisk weather. Either way, equestrian activities are
full speed ahead.
We're also very excited about the upcoming Winter Arena Season at
Potomac Polo. Last year was a big success for all the players as we
kept at it all through the winter, missing only two weekends due to
foul weather. Hopefully, the weather will assist again this year.
We're making notable improvements to the arena to make this a superb
season. A new surface grooming drag has been acquired and tested and
I can assure you that the players are going to love the nice, fluffy
results. The surface is ready for action this weekend. Also, we've
added a dedicated gate for the new drag and additional surface
material. In the coming week Mary will discuss membership in the
Club's arena program with the continuing members as well as
prospective new members.
Thanksgiving weekend is coming and Mary and I are staying in town
specifically to kickoff the arena season. We're delighted to have
some of our collegiate members from the University of Virginia
returning to play with us for the holiday. There should be a robust
group of Potomac Polo members scrimmaging over the holiday weekend
and it'll be nice to hit the field together again. We also hope to
have a Thanksgiving trail ride.
We look forward to a great winter season kickoff over the next week
and a very fun winter of polo in the nicest player-focused arena in
the country.
All the best,
Dante
