USPA Membership

In the interest of providing clarification to our students and
prospective polo players we have included some facts and views on
membership in the USPA.

Fact: you need to be a USPA member to participate with the Potomac
Polo School in classes and clinics

Fact: you can join the USPA as a student member as long as you don't
plan on playing in any USPA tournaments, for USPA participation
you'll need full membership with a handicap rating generated by the
Potomac Polo Club Delegate (contact Mary if you've already paid and
your handicap currently show "NR", we'll get you set straight with
the National Handicap Committee right away)

Fact: student membership if ridiculously cheap at $35 per year.

Fact: you can renew your student membership annually as long as you
remain a polo school student

Opinion: if you elect to take a student membership you should also
sign up to receive the monthly magazine "Polo Player's Edition."
It's a very good way to keep up on the sport and it's only $40
additional dollars per year for adults over 26 years of age and a
mere $15 for folk younger than 26

Fact: you can sign up for a student membership in the privacy of
your own home with no other assistance simply by filling out this
form http://www.us-polo.org/forms/student_assoc_app.pdf

But to get a full membership with a rating you'll need to pay a
first time fee of $200 ($150 annually thereafter) and contact Mary
so that we can complete the necessary USPA paperwork and establish
your skill level and thus your commensurate handicap.
