We braved the heat and played a lot of polo over the last four
days. Thursday night's school class on Red Eagle Field No. 1 was a
tremendous amount of fun and we were pleased to see Matthew and
Karen take time out from their various extreme sports to join our
other students and us on the playing field. Friday we entertained a
visiting player from the UK with stick and ball sessions on Potomac
Polo's field number two and on Saturday we had an exceptionally
spirited scrimmage between the Red Eagle staff and Capt. Kerry,
Melinda, and Robert our friend from the UK. Sunday was game day for
the Red Eagle Polo team and we did not disappoint. Mary and I were
stand-ins on a second to last place team in the league for a couple
of players who could not make the game. We had a good time helping
our adopted-for-the-day team defeat the same first place team we had
led to victory just two weeks prior. So it would appear that
regardless of your previous win-loss record, having Red Eagle
players on your team is a good thing!
The weather should improve this week. Classes are expected on
Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Please contact Mary at 301-972-7303
well ahead of the class you intend to participate in so that we can
get you confirmed. Classes are filled quickly so it's important to
confirm your attendance.
