Wow, what a weekend! The clinic was really a memorable time for the
students and staff. We had a full class and actually had to turn
people away who wanted to join but contacted us too late. We even
had some unexpected people show up on the first morning of the
clinic with check in hand but we had to maintain the class size and
the skill level of the group. Certainly we'll have these other
aspiring polo clinic attendees join us at our next clinic in the
fall. We had a nice mix of half the class from MD and VA and half
from out of town. Our out of town attendees from Sarasota, FL had a
fabulous time and who can blame them? What better way to experience
the clinic than with a group your friends? The weather was hot but
that never stops polo and we certainly enjoyed the final tournament
in full whites and jerseys with more awesome trophies courtesy of
Red Eagle Polo. The after-party and BBQ went well into the
evening. Mary once again did a fine job but she's not done! As I
type this on Monday she's instructing the Sarasota group for post
clinic private group lessons. That was a smart move on their part
because they can now fine tune their clinic skills over the next few
days before heading home.
We're very excited about the success of the spring/early summer
clinics and after three intense weekends were looking forward to
some well-deserved rest. Unfortunately, with our new polo strings
that won't happen until who knows when? But we can't complain since
we're very fortunate to have developed these fine strings and are
now eager to hit the playing field. Next Saturday is the Courage
Cup and it'll be awesome; after that it's Mary and I one the playing
field every weekend. Of course we're also looking forward to our
leasing students joining us for a few chukkers with the Potomac Polo
Club on weekends. It's been a very memorable year of polo so far
for us and we're pleased to share our Tuesday and Thursday nights
with our students in classes with the Potomac Polo School. But
please, remember to call at least a day ahead and reserve your spot
in the class…emails notices and walk-ins don't work.
We hope to see you with us on the paying field.
