As you know, polo school is on winter hiatus and we trust that
everyone is enjoying the fabulous weather that we are experiencing
this week. Of course many people have tried to cajole us to keep
the school open a bit longer but we occasionally need some time
off. Indeed, in order for us to provide such a fabulous experience
for eight months a year there are innumerable activities that
constantly go on behind the scenes and there are many other
maintenance tasks that can only be accomplished in the off season.
But we are having fun too. We'll be in the jumping arena every day
this week working field hunters and hopefully the good weather will
continue after the New Year so we can restart our Winter League with
the Potomac Polo Club.
Looking ahead, we want to note that the USPA US Open is a really
special event that we hope to see many of our students attend. Mary
and I will be in West Palm Beach, FL for the semi-finals and the
final match (April 14th). It's a wonderful experience with lots of
fun, polo-oriented people. The black tie party on the final weekend
(April 12th) is going to be superb and we expect to fill a couple of
Potomac Polo tables. And we'd welcome any students who are
interested in joining Mary and I and play some chukkers while
visiting Florida. Please call Mary soon to express your interest
and then call your travel agent and book your reservations early
since the flights and good accommodations are always in short
supply.
All the best to our friends in the New Year.
