We had another awesome summer week. Classes were held during the
week as well as both weekend days. I snuck out of work on Friday
and had an awesome trail ride with Mary and Julia through some
beautiful back woods and corn and soybean fields. On Saturday alone
we had 21 students hitting the playing field spread over three
classes. That's a lot of students and it shows just how committed
everyone is and it also tells us that you are really have a great
summer at Red Eagle and we are really pleased to know that. We're
doing our best to make your polo experience the best it can be. It
just so happened that on Saturday I had some offsite business to
attend to so Mary had to do almost all of the work by herself, which
is very much a tiring effort with 21 students. But she received
some very helpful assistance from Julia, Marcos and others, for
which she was most grateful. Sunday was a lot of fun--we had a
special invitation-only class on the grass field with Julia, Marcos,
Wilson, Elizabeth, Dante and Mary. It was pretty sweet playing on
the grass with three on three. We also managed to watch Joe Muldoon
(4 goals) play in a tournament game late in the afternoon and then
share some drinks and food at Gone Away Farm's summer barbeque.
For this week, classes are on the same schedule of Tuesday,
Thursday, Saturday and Sunday—so get on it and call up today. We
have a new shipment of Potomac Polo baseball caps ready for sale at
the tack room display case—very nice hats with white lettering on a
black cap with a Polo Gear logo on the back. I must have heard
about four people who want to order jerseys. I think we're ready to
place the order and I'd like everyone to bring their checkbook
because as you know these are professional jerseys and they are not
cheap so I'll need the cash up front prior to placing the order.
We had anticipated a break in August but demand for polo is
wonderfully strong and we are happy to keep everyone playing
throughout the summer. We'll definitely keep Tuesday, Thursday and
Saturday but probably will use Sunday's for Team Red Eagle polo so
make sure that you call in and sign up early in the week, since
Sunday's may not be an option for most of August.
That's it for now. We'll see you out on the field tomorrow night.
