The Winter League Consolation Match is now complete. It was a
superb finale to a League Series that included many of our most
talented students. Participants included: Ron, Kerry, Jim, Keith,
Janna, Peter, Julia, Ryan, Marcos, Asmeen, Mike, and me. The match
on Sunday was greeted by clear skies and warm weather in the late
afternoon with a 5PM start time. The red team of Jim, Julia and
Marcos took the prize with a 8 to 4 victory over the white team of
Ron, Keith and Mike. We collected some fine video that shows some
excellent plays--I'll release a video in the near future.
Particularly strong in the match were Jim (who collected the MVP
award) and Ron (who was runner-up MVP). Cingalon was the best
playing polo pony. Once again we very much appreciated the
assistance at the barn and on the sidelines from Capt. Kerry. Luis
did a fabulous job assisting with the preparations of the horses and
taking the lead on the traditional South American asada fire
pit/barbeque. The post match party held strong until about 11:30PM
when I finally had to bail out and get some well-deserved rest.
We definitely were pleased to see such enthusiasm and are looking
forward to the Fall 2003 League that will start in mid-September and
end in early November 2003.
Classes will be held this week on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
