Polo classes will be offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings this week
as well as during the day on Saturday and Sunday. A special polo
session will be held on Tuesday but as of today it's already
booked
solid with 10 students so you had better call right now if
there's
even a chance of making that one. I love the evening polo classes
and I know that everyone who attends feels the same. If you have
not tried it yet, please do so and you too will be hooked.
Weeknight and weekend classes have been very full, so much so that
even I have not been able to squeeze in and play. Nevertheless, the
students are having a great opportunity to scrimmage with three
teams within the classes. And now the sun is shining again so you
absolutely need to call early in the week because these classes are
really full and you definitely don't want to miss out.
Our new horses are working out exceptionally well and several are
already in full rotation within the school string. We wanted to
thank everyone who has complimented us on the new extension to the
main barn. That was a 100% Mary Muldoon design and it's awesome.
The players and horses love it because it's bright, breezy and
has a
beautiful view of the fields and the pond. The new lounge area is
also very welcoming and has become a great success with the students
and staff. We're not yet done with this project and the
finishing
touches will occur over the next month.
For those who have time after their lessons on Saturday and Sunday,
you are welcome to linger at the arena and watch the very high-speed
play of the Potomac Polo Club. The club also plays on Wednesday and
Friday evenings. Yesterday, Mary; our new staffer whom most of you
have met - Luis; and I played a chukker with the club and it was
lots of fun. Our Red Eagle Polo Team will be picking up more
chukkers with the club in the future as we continue to get our
competition horses fit. Please check with us to see when you can
watch your professional polo instructor Mary Louise on the playing
field. You'll be quite impressed with what you observe since
most
of you have not had the opportunity to watch Mary launch down field
with the ball. We're quite fortunate to have Mary as our
instructor
because she's an exceptionally talented and accomplished polo
professional and certainly one of the better-known female players in
the sport.
The summer is really kicking into high gear and we're looking
forward to some exceptional polo and lots of fun with all of our new
and continuing students.
See you in the arena.
