We'll have another Tuesday night "riding for polo" class tomorrow as
well as this coming Thursday evening. Last week's class was a lot of
fun but what the participants really appreciated was the personalized
coaching that resulted in noticeable improvements to their polo
playing abilities this past weekend. These smaller classes really
make a difference, early in the season when we've lost some of our
form and throughout the year when we need frequent tune ups to
maximize our skills.
The school is off to a super start. We had three full classes this
past Saturday. Sunday was an off day for the Easter holiday. This
coming weekend we'll have classes on Saturday and Sunday. It remains
very important that you CALL EARLY in the week to sign up. And be
sure to bring your check book if you have not already paid for your
lesson package. Everyone should note that a considerable amount of
time is in the days before each lesson spent matching individual
riders and horses as well as grouping players of comparable ability
to ensure the best possible experience. So please do not disrupt the
scheduling and wait till the end of the week.
The student ratings continue to generate considerable interest. Be
sure to chat with Mary to see where you stand in the current
ratings.
The Fall/Winter league's Consolation Cup will be played the weekend
of May 17-18. The players appear to be finalized with Jim T, Kerry,
R., Mike H., Ron M, Asmeen, K., and Janna K. Alternates will be
considered if any of the named players has a conflict, but this final
match will definitely occur on either Saturday or Sunday the 17 or 18
May so make sure to mark your schedules now. If you'd like to be an
alternate let Mary know now! If you miss out, don't worry, the next
league will start in June so be sure to tell Mary of your interest in
the Summer 2003 league. New and continuing students should also mark
their calendars to watch the consolation match since it will be
instructional as well as fun to cheer your classmates. Everyone who
attends is welcome to participate in the after match party.
See you in the arena.
