Front sproket for a normal postie is about $14. If your sprokets are in tip top condish, then you shouldn't have to replace them just cause you want to replace...

Did you clean the petrol cap? Like someone else said, the air may not be getting into the fuel tank. Go for a ride and when it stops instead of waiting 45 mins...
