Hi Everyone,

I'll just fill you in quickly before I get to the point, so skip the first
paragraph if you're not interested :) I got a postie bike about 6 mths ago,
I've been lurking on here.. and meaning to participate, but I'm always so busy
and the bike isn't my number 1 hobby. I really enjoy riding it though.

Most of my riding is sustained high speed riding (almost always trying to get up
to 80). I was riding into work the other day and I headed up a hill when
something strange happened. It was like a drag on the bike.. like I had a foot
resting on the brake, then it sort of popped free.. and the bike was off again.
At this stage the engine would have been hot, and working hard up a hill.

Now that thats happened.. the engine sounds very thrashy in a way that it didn't
before. I've just been messing around with it and I can't make it sound any
better. I've cleaned spark plug and adjusted gap, checked valve clearances and
adjusted the cam chain. I've still got a feeling its got something to do with
the cam.. because the cover of the end of the cam on the right hand side gets
extremely hot when running. I'm sure it didn't use to get that hot.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what might have happened and remedies for
it?

Thanks in advance..
