I sold my ZZR a month ago because I'm going overseas in a couple of
months but I'm sick of the train to work already!
So I wanna get a postie for a bit of fun and some cheap transport.
I was thinking of spending $1000+ and buying one running and with
rego
but my friends brother has had one sitting in his backyard that he
wants to get rid of.
I haven't been to look at it yet, but it has been unregistered for 1
year and he has lost the keys!
SO...
How hard is it and how much will it cost to replace the key barrel?
How much is a blue slip and rego?
What should I expect to be wrong with it after sitting there
untouched for a year? eg I'm sure the battery will be dead.
Is it even worth checking it out? or should I stick to the original
plan and buy one that runs? Keep in mind, I will only have it for
about 3 months.
I realise it is hard to give much advice with this limited info, but
any replies will be appreciated.
I know a little about motorbikes and I worked in a bicycle shop for
a few years so I'm not afraid of a spanner and am happy to have a go
myself.
I think he wants about $300-350, does this sound reasonable,
providing the bike has no major faults?
