I missed a couple of things from the weekly update plus some more info
on Sunday's ride.

SUNDAY'S BLUEBELL RIDE
One or two are unsure if this ride is right for them. I've described
it as "a little bit hilly". What you've actually got is a very
undulating route with hardly any flat bits. (Dictionary definition:
Rising and falling like waves.) It's a very "fair" terrain because
for
every incline, you're rewarded with the same length of downhill. But
it means you're climbing for 50% of the ride, and that can be tiring.
There's a long drag of about a mile near the start that is quite
energy sapping. If you can ride any of the following and still be
fighting fit at the top after a little breather, you'll be ok:
Carshalton to the Oaks Track
Up Wimbledon Hill
The lower half of
The climb to New Addington
We won't be racing, especially on the return. Scenery is beautiful.
The pub at the station does cheap & cheerful food that you queue up
school dinner style to collect. Fine to bring sandwiches. The car park
at the rear of
parking is free (I think?) on Sundays. Bring lights.
If you need any other info, just ask. There's nowhere to opt out if
you decide it's too tough once you get going!

It's the 3rd Sunday of the month so that means it's the Beddington
Park beginner's ride. If you've not been on the bike for a while or
fancy an easy warm-up for Sunday, come along. They're always along
great local routes with a cafe stop half way. Meet from 1:30 at the
cafe ready for a 2pm sharp depart.
Carshalton and Beddington.
These rides will be going weekly again from April 19th. Leaders needed
(and it's a great place to practice leading a ride!) so get in touch
if you fancy putting something back in. Even doing one ride helps us
out and there routes are already done for you.

TIME OUT FOR 99p
We'll have our picture gracing the Health & Fitness page of Time Out
in a couple of weeks. God knows what it will look like as the
photographer took most of the shots lying on the floor! But if you
want to get a copy cheap, sign up for the 13 issues for 99p offer (yep
under 8p a copy, posted to your door!)
http://info.
The trick to this is cancelling the Direct Debit after they've taken
the 99p. Otherwise you'll be subscribing at the full rate once the
offer is up. You still get the complete set of 13 issues, even after
you cancel the Direct Debit. And if you hold out, they'll send you the
same 99p offer again after a few weeks.
