Hi,
There are a couple of new events to tell you about but firstly I would like
to invite all interested parties to the first ever meeting of Pollards Hill
Cyclists which takes place at 7pm on Monday 26th September at the Mill House
pub on Mitcham Common. We will be electing officers, agreeing our
constitution and discussing what we need to do to encourage more people onto
bikes. If you are interested in becoming an officer, please let me know.
Once this is in place we can apply for funding to help promote the group and
its aims.
Mike has a new ride for this Sunday, heading South through the Stockbroker
Belt, stopping off for lunch and then back up via Croydon. 25 miles. 10:30
outside Pollards Hill library. More info on the website.
Suzanne has organised an event called GET CYCLING MITCHAM! which takes place
on Sat 17th Sept. PHC are organising a ride to coincide and I'd like to
encourage people to come along as it culminates with a free cyclists buffet
that will give everyone a nice opportunity to socialise. And those who have
yet to experience the scenic Mitcham Circular can see some of what they're
missing out on! Press release is below.
And finally, can I encourage the people on the Lambeth, Wandsworth & Croydon
lists who come on our rides to also sign up to the PHC Yahoo Group as not
all notices are copied to the other groups. Click here to join:

The Commonside Community Development Trust in association with Pollards Hill
Cyclists have organised GET CYCLING MITCHAM!, a day of cycling activity on
Saturday 17th September.
The day comprises a free town centre Dr Bike workshop on Fair Green, Mitcham
between 10am and 2pm where you can have your bike checked over and minor
repairs and adjustments done for free. There will also be an opportunity to
meet members of the Merton Cycling Campaign.
At 2pm, there will be a guided 7 mile ride around the Mitcham area taking in
Merton Abbey Mills and Morden Hall, ending at Mitcham Common where there
will be a free cyclists buffet for all participants at the Mill House pub on
Windmill Road.
The ride will be open to anyone with a roadworthy bicycle. Supervised
children are very welcome. If necessary, get your bike looked over at Dr
Bike before you start.
