Faced with the prospect of NO weekend PHC ride for the first time
ever, I've managed to conjure up a ride for Sunday........
The route is to first go to South Norwood Country Park to link up
with the Waterlink Way, and then follow that north to Greenwich. Then
west along the Thames path before crossing the river on Tower Bridge
and cycling past the Bank of England, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Law
Courts, Trafalgar Square, to lunch at a (cheap) pub near there. After
lunch, we go down Whitehall to Parliament Square, over to Buckingham
Palace, past Victoria station and cross the river again on Chelsea
Bridge. We return to Pollards Hill via Battersea Park, Clapham Common
and Tooting Bec Common.
At least the weather should have warmed up by the weekend, and it
might even be dry on Sunday! Meet at Pollards Hill Library as usual
at 9.30, or at the Visitor Centre in South Norwood Country Park at
10am. Hope to see you on Sunday.
PS. Perhaps we can get 221 out of the 223 PHC members out this
weekend, with just the two founders (Mark and Suzanne) letting the
side down.......we have taken a group of 36 up the Waterlink Way to
Greenwich before, so 221 shouldn't be too much trickier!?!
Cheers
