Well, it seems it was too good to be true. Confusion now exists over
the situation with the barriers in Ravensbury Park. This is from Ruth
Hutton at the council:

"This year, the derelict cafe will be rebuilt as a Doctors
surgery that will have CCTV camereas installed. It should then
become unnecessary to have the motorcycle barrier in this area
"It is anticipated that the agreement will be signed shortly and
work will begin in the new financial year."

However, Ruth's boss, Lyn Carpenter, is adamant that she will not be
removing barriers. And no one is sure which barrier is referred to as
being near the derelict cafe as that entrance isn't barriered anyway.

Currently, the photocall at 9:20 tomorrow is still going ahead but as
a campaigning opportunity instead of reporting the demise of the
barriers.
