I've just added some Christmas rides to the website. The first one is
the previously advertised Christmas Lunch ride to Richmond this Sunday.
Jill is leading and we expect to be at the White Cross in Richmond just
after midday. Food is sold direct at the servery which means the only
waiting time is standing in the queue to get served. You can't reserve
a table and it was quite a squash to fit everyone in last year. If
you're meeting us there, we'll probably be upstairs. The Merton and
Wandsworth LCC groups should be out in full force.
The following Sunday is a newly added, train-assisted ride around
Woldingham's Lanes. By hopping on the train for 15 minutes at East
Croydon, it gives us an excellent headstart and throws us right into
the middle of rural Surrey. The ride will visit Beaver Water World and
go trough the pretty villages of Tatsfield and Berry's Green. Instead
of going back to the station, the ride will go back to Pollards Hill.
More details on the website, including train times.
Southwark Cyclists are running their Christmas Day ride for the 5th
year in a row. Around 100 people meander slowly around a deserted
central London. No feeder ride this year so make your own way to the
starting points at Greenwich or London Bridge.
We have our own Boxing Day ride this year. Currently, it will be a
mystery tour, mostly because I haven't decided on a route or where to
lunch. The start time is sorted so 9:30 at the library if you want to
blow the cobwebs away or even give your new Christmas bike a test spin.
The ride reports are about a month behind at the moment and there are
some new photos to go up so keep checking the website as stuff will be
getting added over the next week or so.
Cheers
