We desperately need more ride leaders but there seems to be two things
holding people back. One is a fear of getting lost but this will be covered
by our new GPS. The other is not knowing anything mechanical so we're about
to address that with a couple of free lessons.
The lessons will be at Commonside (adjacent to the library) from 7pm to 10pm
on July 13 & 20. You'll need to attend both and they're only for people who
are actively prepared to lead a ride. The other aspects of ride leading will
be covered in separate informal lessons which we'll announce soon.
The 13th will cover fixing punctures. This is a thorough lesson and you're
guaranteed to be able to do this on your own at the end.
The 20th will be other things that can go wrong on a ride such as gears or
brakes playing up.
Places are limited. You need to hit Reply if you want to come. I'm going to
take a £20 deposit which will be returned when you've done both lessons to
stop people dropping out. Let me know you're interested and we'll take it
from there.
Cheers
