See below a message sent to Simon at Wandsworth Cyclists requesting help on
a charity ride. You'll miss our ride to Headley Village but it sounds as if
they've mapped out a good route. Contact the charity organisers DIRECT, not
through this list.
Lots of interest in John's ride tomorrow. 09:30 at the library for a scenic
urban run along the Capital Ring route, taking in plenty of South London's
hidden attractions.
Cheers

>Subject: Help with charity bike ride - 11th June
>
>
>Dear Simon,
>
>Many thanks for your help with this.
>
>I am writing on behalf of the Nehemiah Project, a South London Charity that
provides care and support to the homeless and vulnerable. Our biggest
fundraising event of the year, a sponsored bike ride from Guildford to London,
is going to take place on Sunday 11th June. Its a beautiful 50 mile route going
through the North Downs, Hampton Court and Richmond Park and finishing at our
base in Streatham with a big BBQ party.
>
>I was very much hoping you might be able to help us find some keen cyclists who
would be kind enough to help out with the ride. Ideally they would be willing
to cycle at the back of the ride and help any riders who have problems with
their bikes (punctures, slipped chains etc.).
>
>The chances are there won't be too many problems, but obviously we like to have
people who have a reasonable technical knowledge of bikes just in case.
>
>If anyone is interested please do call me on 020 8773 7414 as soon as possible
(only a week to go until the ride!). It should be a really fun day out and
helpers are more than welcome at the BBQ party at the end.
>
>Thank you again for your help.
>
>Kind regards,
>
