No Matt, I don't think that you're probably the only one, but I do hope that there are only a few of you.

In reality most of the participants of BMX racing are kids. It is a great way to get young people into cycling. Physical activity is not easy to promote these days and if we can do that AND have it be in a type of bicycling I'm overjoyed! Mike Day and many other stars of BMX racing are more important than Lance Armstrong in promoting cycling to a younger generation. BMX teaches great bike handling and all the other positive skills and lessons that are found in sports, AND it's FUN. You wouldn't believe how many world class adult cyclists in mountain, road and all types cycling have BMX backgrounds. Names like Tinker Juarez and Robbie McEwen are just two of thousands. I was riding bikes way before it got "popular" and I thank the grown male AND female stars of the sport for helping to make it not only acceptable but stylish to ride a bike to work.

If you have children I highly recommend taking them to these races so they might get hooked on bicycling like so many of us are. So they can become adults that are less dependant on oil like our generation. Let them meet someone who is a star of pedals. Pedals are Positive. You can even watch on the web at www.go211.com .

Thanks!  Dan Brown
