It has been awhile since our last correspondence, but we have been busy crossing the t's and dotting the i's and getting the Halo Trail project up and going.
The Halo Trail project is a new 6.5 mile long non-motorized trail for hikers, runners and mountain bikers that came out of the USFS Peavine Roads and Rec Strategy. This project is being spearheaded by the Poedunks - our groups mission is to work with our local land agencies to improve and expand Peavine's trail network legally.
We have partnered with the USFS, Washoe County Parks, Nevada State Parks, and the Nevada Conservation Corps to help implement this new trail segment. The NCC has started work on the trail and we now have the opportunity to supplement their effort with volunteer days.
We will be working the next three Saturdays on the Halo Trail, as well as the next two Sundays on the N-Trail at Rancho San Rafael.
For more information on dates, times and what you need to bring, go to:
We hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you out on the trail.
