Hello dedicated Peavine trail workers and trail supporters ,

 

Hope the new year is treating you well.

 

This year we are looking to head up the construction of a 6.5 mile segment of trail that has been approved in the USFS Peavine Roads and Recreation Plan.   Referred to as the "Halo trail", it is at this time the only proposed trail on Peavine. When the snow melts we will begin the final flagging of the route so it can get the required archeological clearance. We are shooting to start moving dirt the first of May.

 

Till then, we are taking the next step, establishing the Poedunks as a formal entity so that we can apply for grants, accept donations, etc.   The Poedunks will be an IMBA affiliated club, who's mission will be to maintain and build legal and sustainable trails on Peavine by working with the USFS, Washoe County, City of Reno and other Peavine users groups.

 

We need seven persons to be on the board of directors to get become legit - if you are interested please send a reply email ASAP.  Randy M, Michael H, Steve C, Quinn Mc have already expressed interest – please confirm.  Looking to have the paperwork submitted by the end of this month.

 

What does being on the board entail? Basically we will need the prescribed number of persons above to meet on occasions (meetings as determined by the board), to discuss, plan, organize, schedule trail work, maintenance, and cover related  Peavine topics pursuant to the mission statement above.

 

Our immediate goals/projects will be to 1) finish the N-Trail work at RSF and 2) organize/construct the Halo Trail on Peavine.

Till the snow melts, you might try giving Peavine a go on sticks or boards!
