PlayersVolleyball is dedicated to informing the volleyball community and hosting volleyball tournaments in the Pacific Northwest, primarily in, but by no means limited to, the metro area of Seattle and Tacoma, Washington. It is nothing more than bunch of volleyball players getting together on their own, throwing some money into a hat, then playing for it.

PlayersVolleyball's goals are to provide a community for the volleyball players in the Pacific Northwest and to host competitive volleyball tournaments with prizes composed of as close to 100% of the entry fees as possible, keeping facility and tournament management costs as close to zero as possible.

General guidelines for prizing are typically that
* 3rd place gets their entry fee back,
* 2nd place gets more than 3rd place, and
* 1st place gets at least one and half to two times more than 2nd place,
* with around 10% of the available prize pool going to fun stuff, like the well-known poker pot.

Some tournament throwers have been known to provide a light breakfast (ok, donuts), drinks, and lunch with the entry fee, which is a nice touch.
