If you are involved with horses and anywhere in Nebraska (or nearby), we hope by now you have heard about HYPERLINK "http://www.nebraskahorsecouncil.org/Expo2006.htm" Nebraska Horse Expo 2006 taking place in Lincoln beginning March 10. I was fortunate to be asked to join the committee formed by the Nebraska Horse Council who hosts the Expo every year. It has been a year long project and as with any project this size, there has been a flurry of activity these last few weeks gearing up for the big event!
From the committee’s perspective, we are going all out this year. We have John Lyons, Van Hargis, Scot Hansen and Kent Williamson for clinicians. We have Brian Bausch entertaining with trick riding & roping. We have a special presentation on Women & Horses featuring famed endurance rider & author, Julie Suhr & artist, Lanie Frick. And there is literally something going on in every venue (2 arenas, round pen & lecture hall) every hour on the hour. The barn is full. There are in excess of 200 horses registered for breed exhibits. And unlike last year, the vendor hall is full! Shop till you drop!
While at Expo, check the schedule for any Nutrena presentation. Attend the Nutrena presentation & you could win priority seating to John Lyon’s next show at Expo! Also, the Riding Thru Life Saddle Club donated some awesome gift bags full of goodies every gal would like! Attend a Women & Horses presentation & one of these special bags worth $$$$ may go home with you!
Trail Riders should visit the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee booth or come to our presentation & learn about HYPERLINK "http://www.nebraskahorsecouncil.org/nhtc.htm" Trail Time, our new riding program. This riding program awards you for time in the saddle, but most importantly, provides the NHTC with important riding data which we can use for the solicitation and promotion of new horse trails in our state! So if awards for riding time is what motivates you or you wish to help build promote or build new trails, join now or at Expo & you can get credit for your riding time back to January 1, 2006!
I am convinced we have enough horse people in this state to support an expo of this size! Come to Lincoln March 10 – 12 to the Lancaster Event Center for this year’s HYPERLINK "http://www.nebraskahorsecouncil.org/Expo2006.htm" Nebraska Horse Expo! Can you believe you get all this for just $7 at the door? ($15 for weekend passes!)
While at lunch with horse friends this last week, my friend Jane gave us until noon to wrap up our Expo talk. Our lunch concluded around 1:00 and we were still talking Expo! Come on out and see what all the talk is about. I am anxious for it to be here and anxious for it to be over. Its time to stop talking about the horse and ride!
Happy Trails,
Tammy
