The ride for Wednesday, July 15th for the PRR North group is at Big Elk Park by Macy.  Ride out time is 6:30.

I'll check the weather and trail conditions ahead of time. If for any reason the ride can't take place I'll send an email to everyone Wednesday by 2:00 pm at the latest.   But if we only get a few sprinkles the plan is to ride!  We may be riding the roads instead of trails if it looks like the trails are muddy.  Call my cell if you have questions;  402-833-8192.

Big Elk Park of Macy takes you into the bluffs along the Missouri river. Located on the Winnebago/Omaha Indian Reservation in northeast Nebraska, the trail boasts beautiful trees and breathtaking views. Approximately 21 miles of trail. Hunting is allowed, so you may not want to ride during hunting seasons.   Permit may be required, we have been lucky and never been checked but don’t count on our luck holding.

Driving directions:
To get to Big Elk  Park from from Decatur, NE go north on Hwy 75 for 9 miles. Turn Right (East) on “L” Ave. (across the road from the turn to Macy). Follow blacktop road, which curves to the north, to the park (2.5 miles) the park entrance is on the right.  Go north to the big open area.  Park to the south/right side of the park. 

From Sioux City, go south on Hwy 77 through Winnebago.   Continue south on Hwy 77 for approximately 8 miles.  When you get to the Walthill corner turn left (east) on Hwy 94.   Once you get to Hwy 75 continue across on
