The News
The Packers have scheduled a news conference for this afternoon to
announce they have struck an agreement to retain free agent defensive
end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila. The deal will pay KGB $37 million over
seven years, including $13 million in guaranteed money. Gbaja-Biamila
was wooed by the Eagles as a replacement for Hugh Douglas, but asked
for $14 million in guaranteed money from them.

Sounds like KGB wanted to stay in Green Bay all along and asked for
extra money from Philly to make it worth his while to move there. The
Packers defense has already subtracted Nate Wayne, Billy Lyon, Matt
Bowen, Tyrone Williams, and Tod McBride this offseason. And they'll
likely lose Vonnie Holliday via free agency as well. They could not
afford to lose KGB too.
