ST. LOUIS RAMS (No. 12 First Round Selection)
When it comes to the race for quarterbacks this year, don't count the
St. Louis Rams out. Head coach Mike Martz, who always likes pushing
for more offensive players during the draft, isn't against drafting a
quarterback to begin grooming for down the road. QB Kurt Warner isn't
getting any younger and Marc Bulger will be a free agent again next
off-season so Martz could be looking to snag a developmental QB even
early in the draft ... The Rams, like many, had both Martz and
general manager Charley Armey at Arizona State's workout day to check
out DE Terrell Suggs and WR Shaun McDonald.

NEW YORK JETS (No. 13 and 22 First Round Selections)
There remains a chance the Jets will use one or both of their first-
round selections to move up in the draft to snag an elite player -
possibly at the defensive tackle or wide receiver position ... WR
Kelly Washington (Tennessee), LB Nick Barnett (Oregon State) and DT
Johnathan Sullivan (Georgia) are scheduled to have pre-draft visits
with the team; they've shown a strong interest in Washington
previously and he could be in their plans to help upgrade their WRs
corps now that Laveranues Coles has departed.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (No. 14 and 19 First Round Selections)
The Patriots plan to have a pre-draft visit with DE Calvin Pace (Wake
Forest).

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (No. 15 First Round Selection)
The Chargers had representatives in attendance at OT Courtney Van
Buren's (Arkansas Pine Bluff) workout.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (No. 16 First Round Selection)
With help needed on defense, the Chiefs plan to have pre-draft visits
with LB Chaun Thompson (West Texas A&M) and DE Calvin Pace (Wake
Forest) ... RB Priest Holmes (hip) recently underwent minor surgery
to help speed up the recovery of a hip injury and the team hasn't
been able to address their backup RB position. They lost out on RB
Shawn Bryson (Bills), who signed as a free agent with the Detroit
Lions, and former backup Mike Cloud, also an unrestricted free agent,
was recently suspended four games for violating the league's policy
on Anabolic Steroid use.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (No. 17 and 18 First Round Selections)
The Saints are reportedly keeping close tabs on TE Jason Witten
(Tennessee), CB Rasean Mathis (Bethune-Cookman), S Troy Polamalu
(USC) and OT Jon Stinchcomb (Georgia), who are all projected to be
potential first-round selections ... The team plans to have a pre-
draft visit with CB Drayton Florence (Tuskegee) and may set up one
with DT Johnathan Sullivan (Georgia) ... CB Chris Kern (Mt. Union)
has also seen a strong interest from the Saints.

CLEVELAND BROWNS (No. 21 First Round Selection)
The Browns plan to have a pre-draft meetings with LB Chaun Thompson
(West Texas A&M) and LB Nick Barnett (Oregon State). They've also
expressed an interest in TE R.J. Luke (Western Illinois).
