Moulds Rejects Pay Cut
John Wawrow, of the Associated Press, reports Buffalo Bills WR Eric
Moulds has rejected a second offer from the Bills to take a pay cut.
Moulds' personal advisor, Greg Johnson, said, "This thing is going
nowhere. The dollars they're presenting at this particular time are
much too low. We're way too far apart to have an intelligent
conversation anymore." The Bills are expected to release Moulds,
saving the team $5.5 million in salary cap space
Titans Exercise Option on Jones
USAToday.com reports the Tennessee Titans have exercised a contract
option on CB Adam Jones.
Seahawks Release Players
The Seattle Seahawks announced the release of LB Jamie Sharper and CB
Andre Dyson.
Raiders Cut Washington
Nancy Gay, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports the Oakland
Raiders have released DT Ted Washington.
Minter Restructures
The Associated Press reports Carolina Panthers S Mike Minter
finalized a restructure of his contract that gave Carolina a $1.7
million salary cap cushion.
Packers Release Diggs
The Green Bay Packers announced the team has released LB Na'il Diggs.
Broncos Re-sign Lepsis
The Denver Broncos announced OT Matt Lepsis has been re-signed to a
four-year contract. The financial terms of the deal were not
disclosed.
Mawae Expected To Be Released
Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets C Kevin
Mawae will be released in the coming days, according to his agent
Mark Bartelstein.
Rams Waive Claiborne
ESPNews reports the St. Louis Rams have released LB Chris Claiborne.
Rams Tender Curtis Offer
Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the St. Louis
Rams have tendered restricted free agent WR Kevin Curtis an offer of
about $1.5 million which means the team would receive a first-round
draft pick as compensation if they don't match an offer sheet
presented to Curtis.
Chiefs Make Cuts
KCChiefs.com reports the Kansas City Chiefs have terminated the
contract of CB Eric Warfield.
Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports Kansas City Chiefs OL Will
Shields has been informed he will be released.
McNair Won't Receive Bonus
ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports Tennessee Titans QB Steve McNair
won't receive his $50 million option bonus, as the team has declined
to pay it. Instead, the team paid him a $1 million non-exercise fee,
which boosts his compensation for 2006 to $10 million. His salary cap
hit is about $14 million. The Titans' move also voided the final
three years of McNair's deal, making him a free agent after the 2006
season.
Collins Likely To Be Released
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Oakland Raiders are likely to
release QB Kerry Collins.
Vick Restructures
ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Atlanta Falcons have
guaranteed a $7 million roster bonus due to QB Michael Vick. The move
creates about $5.25 million in additional room under the salary cap.
The team basically turned his roster bonus into a signing bonus,
which allows them to prorate it over the remainder of the contract.
Falcons To Release B. Smith
ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Atlanta Falcons will release
veteran DE Brady Smith, which will save them $2.5 million against the
salary cap.
Henry Restructures
Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans agreed to
terms on a restructured contract for RB Travis Henry Wednesday
evening, March 1, according to the player's agent, Hadley Engelhard.
The Titans avoided paying the $4 million option Henry was scheduled
to collect as the veteran agreed to a multiyear, incentive-laden
deal. "Travis is bending over backwards to make this work because he
really believes in the Titans," Engelhard said. "Based on what
happened last year he wants to show the Titans what he is all about."
Coles Restructures
The New York Daily News reports the New York Jets restructured the
contract of WR Laveranues Coles to save salary cap space.
Glover Released
Nick Eatman, of DallasCowboys.com, reports the Dallas Cowboys have
officially released DT La'Roi Glover.
