Hi,

I met some of you at the Swim Clinic a few weeks ago at Total
Fitness. I would like to swim with the group but can't make it on
Fridays. Can you tell me where exactly you swim at Fred Howard. I'm
looking for a place to practice but want to feel safe!

Thanks,

Teresa

Joyce,

We can probably swim again on Friday; same time and place.

I am looking for someone who might be interested in doing a long bike ride either Thursday or Friday; I am flexible with the time.  I’d like to ride the entire Pinellas or Suncoast Trail; would someone want to join me for part or all of that ride?  I usually ride long on Saturdays, but cannot this Saturday because I’m taking my kids to do the youth triathlon.

Thanks,

Lora

Hi Team,

You guy are doing Great!!! You have worked hard and it shows.  I am VERY proud of all of you and to be your coach. Just think about where you started and in 5 weeks from today we will be partying in Tahoe celebrating our accomplishment of conquering the Lake and of all of the people that your hard work is going to help.

I hope that all of you are coming back and riding with us this October in Cocoa. The ride is along the intercoastal. You can do a 100 mile century or 62 mi metric century. Kick off is May 10. Let me know if you have any questions or go to the Team In Training web site.

Congratulations to all of the Tri-Warriors that competed in Saint Anthony's today. Tri season is here and we will start our mock tri training's soon.

Good Evening,

First, Good Luck to all of the Tri-Warriors competing at St. Anthony this weekend! You guys are all winners!

At the Tri-Warriors meeting this Wednesday evening at 7:30pm at 1550 16th St Palm Harbor. We will discuss upcoming tri training, and fall Cycle event for Team In Training. Sponsors are coming in and we need to vote on our final shirt design so we can get them before the next race. I will need the art work to take to the printers. As far as cycle training goes. Melissa Rutland is inviting us to St. Pete for our Saturday ride, Sunday on the Suncoast Parkway and we are planning to go back up to San Antonio on May 4th.

A note from Vikki Moore. My St. Pete Maddog friend, Angela Hawkes, is the Volunteer Coordinator for the youth triathlon at Pop Stansell park. This wonderful event will be held on May 10th in Palm Harbor.  I hope the Palm Harbor Tri Warriors will show their support for this local event .  If you wish to volunteer, please contact Angela, (flyer is attached). This will be a great opportunity to introduce our new club. Hope to see you out there. Vikki Moore

Thanks,

Ralph

Hi Team,

I drove the San Antonio route yesterday. it will be challenging, but I know you can do it!!! We will be riding a 30 mile loop. After 1 loop we will see if anybody wants to go more. I'm trying to get us a SAG wagon. Carrie said she will lead us. She rides the route all the time. I have been told that there is a very big, experienced group that rides on Sunday morning. We will let them leave before us. Parking might be a problem, but I think we can park next to the rail car.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Hi Team,

A note from Roberta; I’m helping a non-profit group HEP ( Homeless Emergency Project) collect bikes to refurbish and distribute to the homeless and working poor. The collection is April 19. Any bike is welcome.

Thanks so much, Roberta

I can help pick up bikes to. Thanks, Ralph

Hi Folks,

I know you get all kinds of requests for donations from many different places, but this one is right down our road (pun intended!!) and may be something that you can do easily. If you're like me, you've upgraded your bike(s) over the years and may have that old bike sitting in the garage doing nothing. Or maybe you have a kid's bike, mountain bike, etc. that isn't used anymore. Well, it could go to the Freewheel Program which helps the homeless by donating refurbished bicycles to them so they can have transportation to get to a job and be a productive part of society.

Check out the attached flyer and then make plans to bring your unused or no longer needed bikes to 1120 N. Betty Lane in Clearwater so they can be put back into service for a great cause!! The condition doesn't matter - they'll be refurbished!! I'll be there along with two of your other fellow Coasties on April 19, 2008 to collect them. If you have a bike to donate and can't make it on the 19th, CALL ME. I'll come pick up the bike for you and take it down. I'll get you a receipt for tax purposes, as well.

I hope you'll take some time to help us out in this worthy undertaking that will touch the lives of many. Thanks, everyone!!

Tom Ferraro

Hey Suncoasters!

I've been talking about a club trip to Italy for us since last year and well, with the Euro killing us over in Europe, I'm now looking into a domestic trip, say to California for a wine country tour or the Pacific coast. The good people at Trek are willing to come talk to us (thanks to Dottie Jessup at Chainwheel Drive!) on April 14th. We'd like to get response back from all of those interested in coming out on the 14th at 7:00 PM to Chainwheel Drive, Clearwater, to talk it over with the people at Trek Travel. Perhaps we can finalize a destination that is, by far, within more people's budget's than the Italy trip and yet still give us an amazing bike tour!! There are lots of options, even a weekend and a long weekend tour as well as a one week Tour. Tentative departure dates would be between mid August to mid September.

Trek Travel puts together the cycling trip of a lifetime and you'll have a chance to hear about it at the gathering on Monday, April 14, at 7pm.  Please RSVP to Dottie at djessup@... by Friday, April 4, if you are interested in hearing about the possibilities of a group trip or want to learn about destinations for your own trip. We'll have some light refreshments for you plus the opportunity to see your fellow Coasties in street clothes and no helmets on!!!

So, drop Dottie an RSVP and come out to Chainwheel Drive, Clearwater, on April 14th at 7 PM and lets see about putting together a fun, affordable "Coastie Tour"!! I'll see you there!!
