he tie with Montreal last night has them at a
three or four game unbeaten streak. I think they are
1-0-2 in their last three. They came really close to
losing that one last night, with the tying tally coming
with less than 2 minutes to go. Tkachuk left the game
with a groin pull. Hopefully, it's not a serious
strain, like the ones that knocked the King's goalies out
for a long time. But, yet another NHL player goes
down with a groin pull. I don't think you can count as
high as the number of players that have missed games
with this injury, this year so far. I have never seen
anything like it. It's as if, the players are
concentrating so much on free-agency and getting the money,
that they aren't working on getting themselves
physically prepared for games. A groin strain or pull is a
direct result of not having sufficient pre-game warmup
(stretching). I'm sure it's driving the coaching staffs as
crazy as it is me.
he Coyotes extended their home unbeaten streak
to 10 games, one shy of the club record, by doubling
up on the Canadiens last night. Roenick and Tkachuk
each had a goal and an assist in a game that featured
almost two full games worth of penalty minutes. Yup, 118
minutes on 25 penalties handed down by the two refs last
night. That's some wild stuff. Wish I could have been
there to see that.

Another hockey note:
I
would have like to have seen the Sharks/Stars game as
well last night. Apparently, the third period went
nearly 10 minutes without a single whistle. I don't care
who's playing, that's hockey worth watching!
lonen isn't going to be a 40 or 50-goal scorer,
but I think he's going to be a great setup guy and be
the type of player that will raise the level of those
around him, both on and off the ice. Yeah, I'm not
surprised that the streaks ended against Edmonton either,
however, after Edmonton losing to Chicago a couple games
prior...I thought that they might be primed for a loss
against the Coyotes. I guess the loss to the Hawks had
the reverse effect on the Oilers coming into that
game vs. the Coyotes. Phoenix's November made them
only the fifth team in league history to have an
undefeated month. I definitely think these guys are going to
be a force to the very end of this season.
lonen may not be a great goal scorer But he gets
his lines moving... When he was out with Tocchet and
Adams, and then on the line with Briere and Doan. On
another note, yes, it's definitely too bad the streak had
to come to an end, but it somehow doesn't surpise me
that it happened against Edmonton. Coyotes/Jets didn't
have the best history against them to begin with
(18-39-4). And after the November the coyotes had, it was
bound to happen. But, it's still early and they're
going to continue to have a great season...
dmonton snapped all the streaks that the coyotes
had been working on. The 17-game 2 goals or less
streak and the 7-game winning streak came to a climactic
close. The game was mostly going the coyotes' way. But,
Edmonton would not surrender, coming back several times to
finally win it. Edmonton's netminder won it for them,
stopping 45 shots. And, Khabibulin finally faultered,
allowing 4 goals on only 22 shots. But, it was a great
game played up front by the coyotes. If they had
capitalized on that 5-on-3, they would have at least ended
with a tie. Oh, well. Like Tkachuk said after tha
game, "We'll have to just start a new streak."
5-game streak of allowing 2 or fewer goals. The
Coyotes beat the winless Blackhawks tonight, in a great
offensive performance by Tkachuck, scoring two goals and an
assist on the Coyotes third. Khabibulin was great in net
again, but the Hawks didn't challenge him that often.
The last two minutes were a bit of a scare and that's
when 'Bulin was his best in the game...stopping some
point-blank chances. Good game.
eah, so far, you are the only gal. It's a
pleasue to have you among us. Are you still in Winnipeg?
I've only ever been in Toronto, Montreal and Quebec.
I've always wanted to visit Edmonton, Calgary,
Winnipeg and Vancouver. I was born just across the border
from Vancouver in Seattle, WA. But, I've never been
back up there.

Anyway, welcome
aboard.

Jace
ell as you can, i'm new to this club!!! Am I the only gal? I absolutely luv the
Coyotes and they kick ass! I still miss the Jets though (i'm from Winnipeg)
elcome aboard. Glad to see more people coming
into the club. Feel free to post any thoughts on how
the Coyotes are doing.

And, Roenick, wow, is
he hot right now...as are all the
Coyotes.

Jace
n 11-game winning streak! An NHL record of 13
straight games (and counting) keeping opponents to 2 or
fewer goals per game. These guys are on fire. That goal
against Edmonton in overtime last night was fantastic. It
was good to finally see Khabibulin back, even though
Waite had been spectacular in relief. 'Bulin was
focused from the start, making some tremendous saves
early on. And, Roenick hasn't been this good since
early in his Blackhawk days. Oh, and the defense has
been great in front of the netminders...certainly
helping in the low GAA.
ey phatty where do you live ? I live in Ottawa
and hey guys there is a new club on the coyotes it's
called "coyotes hangout" and if you guys want to I can
invite some of my friends to this cool club. OK thanx
irst time Waite has been so honored. He and
Khabibulin have a combined GAA of 1.4 for the season so far,
just amazing. The Blackhawks goaltenders have a
combined GAA of 3.59 so far.

Since the home opener
versus Ottawa (4-1 loss), the Coyotes have not given up
more than 2 goals in a game. The defense is really
buckling down on the opposition, Tverdofsky and the others
have been stifling and punnishing. And, Waite has kept
the 'Bulin Wall rock solid in Nikolai's absence.
ncluding when they were the Jets of Winnipeg.
The Coyotes have an eight game unbeaten streak and
are six games over .500 for the first time since
December of 1991 when they were the Jets. Waite has been
awesome in net for the still injured Khabibulin, but
don't expect Waite to be the starter for much longer.
hanks for joining. Hopefully, this club
will
continue to grow as more people find it. I don't
doubt
that there aren't too many Coyotes fans up there.
But,
it's nice to see there are
some!

Again,
welcome.
was a Winnipeg fan,but I still like the
team
even though they moved. Up here in Ontario
there
aren't many Coyotes fans so this club seemed like
a
good place to chat with hockey fans who know
who
the best team in the league is.
est start in franchise history!! And once again,
Waite was spectacular. He flopped around all over the
place stopping 38 shots for his 4th career shutout. He
has been excellent in his starts in place of the
infured Khabibulin. Tkachuk is still on fire, scoring
another goal. Lumme had the other. There was an
unfortunate hit to Oleg Tverdofsky, he was holding his arm
afterwards...hopefully he'll be good for the next game. Great game
against the Stars, really played them they way they
needed to.
ello people I have my own club and it's called coyotes hangout and for all you
Tkachuk fans there is a club for him and it's called the fedorov and tkachuk
bench so please join. THANX LAX 987
he score could have easily been 9-0 as Manny
Legace, in goal for the Kings, was outstanding.
Khabibulin was barely tested in the first and second
periods, but saw 14 shots in the third as the Kings were
trying to mount a comeback. Bulin did face a very tough
shot in the second that looked like it was destined
for the back of the net, but he closed the five-hole
quickly and caught it in his crotch. On the other side,
Legace was being hammered. Most of the game was played
in the Kings end, and Legace was getting hammered as
shot after shot was blistering towards him. Lumme
scored first, as he stuck with the puck and kept
slapping it towards the net, finally getting through
Legace. The Kings were unable to win any of the physical
battles, even though they lay claim to the biggest guy in
the NHL, 6'8", 247lb., Steve McKenna. The Kings ended
up turning the puck over almost constantly giving
the Coyotes excellent opportunities. The Kings just
lay in ruins from the brutal beating given by the
Coyotes.
hark steaks that is....Great performance by the
entire squad to hand San Jose yet another defeat.
Tkachuk and Roenick both scored to finish off the come
back and finish off the Sharks. The Sharks remain the
only team in the NHL without a single win. That gift
by Shark's goalie Steve Shields was unfortunate for
them, but great for the Coyotes. Khabibulin continues
to become better and better as the days go by. His
last few outings have been great. Though, he did
struggle for a short time last night, he came back to help
the comeback stand. Next up is a trip to Los Angeles
on Sunday.
mazingly enough, Roy is having the worst start
of his career! In the two games the Coyotes have
played against the Avs, they have scored 10 goals. In
the four other games this season, the Coys have
scored 7. Wish the Coys could play the Avs all season.
It was Waites' first stint in goal, taking the place
of Khabibulin and he did good. And, the defense did
even better, allowing 20 shots and blocking a ton in
the second period. They also cleared out the screens
in front of Waite. And, Waite made it to 3:16
remaining in the game before letting a shot get past him
for a Colorado power-play goal. Impressive outing
indeed. Looking forward to their game tomorrow, when they
go to the Shark Tank in San Jose. San Jose is the
last team in the league still looking for a win, and
they'll have to really work hard to make the Coyotes
their first victim of the season.
ell, the ducks could have won it...if not for
the Bulin-wall! Khabibulin was amazing at the end of
regulation and during overtime. He turned aside some quality
shots by the ducks. However, in the middle of the game
Khabibuling didn't seem focused. Perhaps it was in reaction
to his defense losing focus. The coyotes defense let
the ducks win the battles in the corners and bring
the puck in front of Nikolai. The coyotes do look
very good this year. Tverdofsky continues his
blistering of his former team (Anahiem) and has put up some
decent numbers to start the season and compliment, as
always, Tkachuk and Roenick.
