Though I have not run Thorncreek woods in a long while, I do still run many other places wherever and whenever I feel the need. My intent is to keep going...however, it seems that pepper spray could be a good thing to carry along. Does anyone have a clue where it could be purchased??
Maybe the club could offer that for sale along with the other club stuff??
Also, I see many of us out there with headphones...perhaps, this would be a good time to suggest to every one to turn them down or take them off all together....? ...Maybe??

Sadly again the forest preserve has become a place that is unsafe to run. This is not the 1st time a runner/walker has been attack in the woods. This is the 3rd time a female runner/walker has been attack in the woods in the last 7 years or less. Some of you remember a member of our own club who was attack in the woods while walking, just weeks after another women as attack.Believe me I was one of those people who ran the woods regularly by myself. Thinking it would never happen to me, but it only take a second for you to become a victim of another person or a group of people who what to become a member of a gang to make you their trophy for their initiation. So, please don't be dumb enough to think that it matters whether you are a male or female, running alone just isn't safe anymore in the woods. I am not just talk Sauk Trail Woods alone, there has been times in Yankee woods when it has not been safe alone either.Just Run Smart & Safe,Cheryl
