Last night my dad told me that he saw Pete on CNN
injured while practicing!! My heart dropped, but
everything seems to be okay now. Thank goodness!!<br><br>
Sampras dodges injury after slip at Wimbledon The
Associated Press WIMBLEDON, England (AP) --<br>Six-time
Wimbledon champion Pete Sampras slipped and fell in
practice Friday, but will be fit to begin defense of his
title Monday, Sampras was walking gingerly after
cutting short practice match with Britain's Tim Henman on
one of Wimbledon's outside courts. <br>Sampras'
coach, Paul Anacone, said <br>the player felt a twinge
in his lower back, but that it was not serious.
<br>"There is no problem," said <br>tournament referee Alan
Mills. "Basically, it was a little bit cold, the weather
was not too good, and he slipped and fell.
<br>According to trainers and Paul himself, there is no
problem. He'll be there at 2 o'clock on Monday." That's
when, by tradition, the <br>defending men's champion
opens play on Centre Court.
