It was fun when he met McCarty anyway. I had a good laugh when I saw
Clod's true mettle exposed for all to see.

A good clutch player, but one hell of a coward.

First Thank you to the Fan Club. Tonight's meeting was first rate as
always.

Second Thank you Mike Richards! Tonight was very enlightening and
entertaining.

Mike Richards talked to the Fan club for about 30 minutes or so.

He was asked a variety of questions. Everything from his thoughts on
deadline day to Fishing.

Things I learned tonight: (JSaq style since everyone is doing it)

- Mike did not get a bigger boat but had ordered a new one prior to his
contract.

-Does not have the NHL network.

-Is on a rotation for Road roomates since Eager left with Upshall an
Lupul since none of them seem to be healthy at the same time.

-Scott Hartnell is the biggest joker in the locker room

-Eager has the best one Line chirps

-Mic'd up doesn't effect him

-His view on the Flyers PP

-His first NHL game ever

-The biggest Fish he ever caught

-His biggest career highlights

-how he felt about his all star experience

It was very good and Mike was very funny at times.

Yes, whatever happens in Colorado, people still worship him there.
If he goes to another team, plays 1 game and gets injured, that's
the only way he'll be remembered there..

Between periods in the Vancouver game last night, Peter was interviewed
by Peter McNabb. McNabb listed all the much more successful teams
who "wanted" Foppa, including the Red Wings, wondering why he chose the
Avalanche. Peter out-and-out laughed at the thought of the Red Wings. I
think he said (through his laughter) "well I'm not going to play for
the Red Wings, that's for sure."

He said that he wanted to come back to the Avs for all the predictable
reasons. And he also said that the fans here know him, and know that
when he comes on the ice, he's giving 100%. I took this to mean that he
really doesn't know if he can play anymore, but that even if he's bad,
he knows we will not hate him for it- we know his work ethic and can
accept whatever happens.

I just pray that some idiot fans don't turn on him if he's unable to
perform. I'll be shocked if he is able - I hate to even think it!

He has a beard and his hair short and close to the head, but not
shaved. He looked younger and just as sweet as ever.

there is an interview link in the article too....

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=230734&hubname=nhl

Peter Forsberg <http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/player_bio.asp?player_id=816> skated
with the Avalanche for the first time Wednesday but
his<http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/player_bio.asp?player_id=816> return
to the lineup has been delayed slightly as he will not accompany the team
back to Colorado as he deals with immigration issues.

Forsberg was taken from Avalanche practice today to the U.S. Consulate in
Vancouver. His arrival in Vancouver took nearly 30 hours after flying from
Sweden to London, England then from Montreal.

Forsberg remains uncertain when he will play his first game back with the
team as he wants to get in a full practice before he plays. He hopes to
practice with the team Friday but would not commit to playing Saturday
night's game against the Los Angeles Kings, however he believes he will make
his debut in one of the Avs next four games.

whats wrong with his name? lol..

I ALMOST mentioned the old goalies name in my original post but the
thought of it made me a bit ill..plus, they cant get him and
turtleboy back as both are currently in a Canadian prison
somewhere..so Im guessing!

I heard that Blake was on his way also..maybe his phone is off the
hook..he only waived the no-trade for the avs..and I cant see why
the kings would keep him..

for those of yous who wanted to go see old timers day at the Pepsi
Center, heres your chance!! hehe...
***********************************

today was an example of how the salary cap works and why baseball
needs it..

the penguins..a team that 5 years ago was maybe on the brink of
dying, is able to foolishly trade a stud, 2 solid 3rd line players
AND a first round pick to atl for hossa..

if the pens ARE that close..I dont blame them for going for a
sniper..though it seems like a lot to give up..plus I feel like
Hossa is a lil on the overrated side..

he will flourish with malkin and crosby though..who wouldnt?..
********************************************

did the Canadian teams outside of MTL know that it was trade
deadline day?

Holy s***! If there's a hockey player I love as much as Peter
Forsberg, it's Adam Foote! I was talking to a friend last night
about Peter coming back, and he joked maybe they'd bring back Footer.
I absolutely can't believe it. BTW, Neat you're awesome to "break"
all this news for us.

Maybe those dullards in the front office finally realized how pissed
off the fans were with all their idiotic moves, and why we stopped
going to the games. Forsberg and Foote were the most insulting.

I heard the name Rob Blake being tossed around on the radio this
morning. Hmmmm?

And maybe Roy and Bourque could come out of retirement?!

Sadly, with all this, there's still a huge possibility that the Avs
won't make the playoffs.

I think you are right - this is a retirement move. Denver is his
hockey home (at least in NA) and it is fitting for him to finish his
career there. I believe he will.

I'm glad he made this move. He doesn't need the money...so it does
show he has some class.

Avalanche bring back defenceman Foote

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=230623&hubname=nhl

The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded veteran defenceman Adam
Foote<http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/player_bio.asp?player_id=843>to the
Colorado Avalanche for a conditional first-round draft pick in 2008
or 2009.

Foote, 36, is in the final year of a three-year, $13.5 million contract and
will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

In 986 career games with the Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche/Quebec
Nordiques, Foote has 65 goals, 283 points and 1,395 penalty minutes.

I know - I was -certain- he wasn't coming back.

Just hearing his name and seeing footage of him on local TV is
wonderful. Those blue eyes are unmistakable. They say he'll be
playing by Saturday or next Tuesday at the latest.

I suspect he's hoping for the best, but probably expecting to have to
retire. This is the place to do it. The Avs know what they're
getting. I heard today that the Blackhawks offered him three times as
much money.

I admire his integrity almost as much as I admire his bod...er,
hockey skills.

Oh, claytonisignorant! Of COURSE their time is valuable! They're
giving up appointments for manis and pedis, the several hours they

But, I don't know how "valuable" I would rate the time of the wives lol

Craziness. I had a feeling if he came back, he'd come to the Avs -
but I didn't think he was going to come back.

Now, I just wonder if he'll actually hit the ice.
