If he's done so well with those other sports...why doesn't he write
about them more?
He went to law school...but did he graduate? I could go to law school
too, as could most people with any kind of bachelors degree. Not so
impressive, given some of the lawyers I've met. I think it is a huge
ego boost to have a behind the scenes pass to a sport that has huge
fad value/social clout in a place like Denver.
If he hates the field that gives him his meal ticket, he needs to find
another job. From how you describe it, he should have no problem
finding one, right? I can say this about him though...he's not as bad
as some others. Others with much more exposure (like Strachan)
I don't have the right connections to become a hockey writer in any
way that would pay the bills. And I actually know the game, so that's
a knock against me too. However, if someone approached me with a
writing job at the pay these guys undoubtedly make, combined with the
endless perks...I'd jump on it. Goodbye real world!
