Congratulations to Chris Reikert on his 4th place finish at Galena this
weekend. And to toot my own horn, my 7th place finish among the
women. Scott Thompson put in a great performance battling the headwind
on the bike portion and the monster hill at the start of the run.
Shev
Awesome!! So, does that qualify you for Nationals, Shev?

Hi Tri-P's,
Well, it's inevitable that something will pull me away from the
California sunshine and lure me back to my home state. I'll be in
Peoria from Monday 5/28 through Thursday 6/7 and hope I can catch up
with all of you for some training and socializing! I won't have my
bike, but I'll bring my running legs and swimming arms.
See you in a week,
Jason
Today is Lou's 76th birthday. I know he doesn't want anyone to make it a big deal but I thought it might be nice an send him an e-mail at: loumcmurray@...

I'm planning on riding some hill repeats at Grandview this afternoon
from 4:00-5:00 this afternoon. If anyone wants to join me, I'll be
leaving from the parking lot at the bottom of the hill. It will keep
me out of the wind and, hopefully, the rain will hold off.Shev
Darn it! I did hill repeats on the back side of Detweiler on Tuesday. It would have been nice to have some company on a not so pleasant workout. Good Luck! Troy

Sounds like hill repeats are the workout of choice these days. Carey, Kevin
Trantina and I did repeats on Rt. 116 heading to Germantown Hills on Monday
along with several other challenging hills in the area. Maybe we can
coordinate a group workout one of these days. If possible, send out a note
the day before so we can have our bikes on hand.
Have fun! I'll be riding a flatter course out in the wind.

I am, also, planning on a 40-45 mile ride (any pace acceptable) after
the River Run in Chillicothe this weekend. Probably leaving from the
race finish line immediately following the awards.

I was wondering if anyone on the list is going to do this race. I would like to hitch a ride and maybe share a room with someone. I would be more than happy to let someone drive my van and will pay for gas but I am too chicken to drive in or near the Chicago area!!! Mike will be completing his last Grand Slam hundred so he can't go!
I am seriouly considering doing it. However, I am infact a dude, so although the ride thing is kosher I am not sure how the room thing would work.

I don't want to share a room with a "dude" but the ride would be kosher for me too! Let me know if you sign up and hopefully some more will consider joining us!!

The Dragon Tri early registration fee is good for a few more days. I hope you can make it in. We have 17 in the high school division and 18 entries in the open division plus 4 relays.
The race is scheduled for June 23rd at Lake Arlann.
We are only a few days from Tri-Shark and the post Tri-Shark Gala Extravaganza.
After Tri-Shark on June 2, you are all invited to stop by our place on your way home for a little post race celebration/party. I am guessing people will start to arrive around 12:00 to 12:30.If you get there early, no big deal, Peg will be there.
We will fire up the grill, throw some meat on the grill and wash it all down with some of that famous amber colored rehydration beverage. We might even breakout the smoothie machine (AKA: the margarita machine – I make a mean strawberry margarita). Then we can then kick back and swap stories about our past races and future events.
We are right on your way home in Morton at 46 Maple Ridge Dr. Just get off I 74 at exit 102 and head north for 2 miles (see map).
We will provide the meat/buns etc: all you will need to bring is some sort of dish to share, beverage and lawn chairs.
If you don’t want to take something to the race and have it sit in your car, you can always stop by Krogers or Rockes (we don’t support Wal-Mart) when you get back to Morton.
Anyone interested in joining me for a swim at the Riverplex this
Wednesday / Monday / Wednesday at the old time (5pm) is welcome. I
must warn the only swimming I've done this past year was with a
surfboard underneath me; so it'll be pretty ugly!
Jason
I'm riding with John so I will be there! I'm going to Tri-Shark as a jockstrapper!!!

Jason,
Hello! Jim McIntyre asked me to inform you that a group will be going out
for dinner tonight after Building Steam. They usually get done around 7
p.m. at the Riverplex. Jim will look for you at the pool before Building
Steam starts at 6. You can call him to confirm dinner plans at 253-2420.
I probably won't see you unless you want to swim Monday morning. Riding in
the evenings.
Take care! Beth

Hi Everyone,
I'm going to have to cancel swimming tonight; I have meetings at
Bradley that will be running late. I will still plan on swimming Mon
/ Wed. If there are other times that people are swimming please let
me know and perhaps I'll be able to join!
Good luck to racers this weekend, unfortunately I'll be going to
Nashville to see the folks and not able to cheer you on in person :(
Jason
It looks like I may end up having to do a finish line in Metamora the morning of the Dragon Tri. I will try to find a someone to sub for me.
