Minor League Baseball Sets All-Time Attendance Record of 39,887,755
ST. PETERSBURG, FL–Minor League Baseball set an all-time attendance record this
season with a total of 39,887,755 fans going through the turnstiles at the 176
teams in the 15 affiliated leagues. That was an increase of 105,038 over the old
mark that was set more than a half-century ago and an increase of 818,048 over

Over Half RTS Card Prospects Make Majors

Sixteen of the 30 players featured in Minor League Baseball’s 2004 Road to the
Show Top Prospects Trading Card Set have played in the Major Leagues this
season. While several have made “The Show” as September call-ups, others have
spent considerable time in the Major Leagues this season.

Indians’ Affiliates Win 4 League Titles

The Cleveland Indians had all four of their Minor League affiliates that
qualified for the playoffs this season go on to win their league championship.
It’s the first time since 1990 that a Major League organization’s farm clubs
have won four league titles in a season. Overall, 14 MLB organizations had at
least one affiliate win a championship as a result of two leagues declaring

Jim Rice & My Grand Nephews
In the summer of '73, Jim Rice was playing for the Bristol Red Sox. They played
at a great old ball park, Muzzy Field. We got there early so we could see
batting and infield practice. Rice was out in left field shagging fly balls when
