Hello All,

With one official meeting under the belt were on our way to another
inspired year of cycling.

At the meeting I handed out the Iowa Bike and Fitness Challenge forms,
then Marty corrected the errors I made on it.

Now I have posted here in the group what I think is a more correct
representation of what Marty is going for.

Please see the files area

form.

I would like to have that information back to me by next Thursday
evening (Feb 19th) so we can compile it and announce a winner.

Also announced at the meeting, Marty will extend this challenge to the
2009 year (Mid Feb 2009 to Mid Feb 2010), so here's your chance to
start keeping track for next year and increase the clubs overall
participation!!!

Although, this is not the official location of club documents,
sometimes it's easier to get them here first then get them posted to
the webpage.

Located in the Files section on our Yahoo! Group page are the

count is we'll need camping space for approx 45 people, bathroom
facilities, and room to park the school bus.

We will be meeting at the community center in Pella, on Thursday,
February 12, to register for the Ride.

Hello All,

Tour de Rock is scheduled for Saturday, September 6th, but it will
have a different format than years past.

It will occur much in the way our normal Show and Go rides occur on
Saturday mornings.

What does this mean?

No registration
No t-shirt
No prizes
No lunch

FREE!!!
Snacks, Water and Gatorade at the half-way point of the ride
Ride distance / destination determined day of the ride.  Most likely a
30 or 50 mile ride.

Feel free to invite a guest to ride a long and be prepared to help
visitors with the route.

Rally at the north shelter of West Market Park at 8:30 - 8:45 to
decide the route and be under way around 9am.

Thanks in advance to all the Pella Cycling Club members that will make
the 10th Tour de Rock another great ride.

Are there any club rides scheduled up near Des Moines? Andrea and I
need to get out with the group.

The weather has really been bad this year!

All,

I got the approval from work to use the color photocopier.  $.08 per
page, $.16 printed both sides.  I think that is pretty good.  Let me
know if you can do better.  That works out to $.72 per for printing.
About 40 copies?  Then mailing.

What's the timeline on this.  I can begin printing any time this week.

So you did the 100 mile ride, how was it?

An open invitation to those who participated in the Marshmallow 100
this year to tell about their ride.

Typically we tarp the bikes and secure them with a lock. We do this around 9:00 p.m. If you don't get their bike under the tarp there are some alternatives. Some people keep their bikes in their tent; some use their own locks. You will be able to put your bike in the bus this year, but it will not be locked. Most of our over night locations are at private homes, so that is a somewhat more secure situation, also. .Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello Everybody,

This is my first post to the Group Page.  And I hope to spark some
discussion here about what every body is doing to get ready for that
first ride this Spring.


The winter months have really taken a toll on me.  At the time I
didn't even bother with a new years resolution, but in late January
Dr. Diehl ran a 5 week seminar: 'Extreme Makeover, Body by God' and
has really inspired me in many ways and hopefully gotten me back on track.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to this year with the club, the
first show and go, and all the things we have happening this year.

At the April meeting, I plan to show the members how this Group Page
thing works.

Anyway, join the fun.  Feel free to post a reply, or even start a new
discussion here.
