Bike Against the Odds Training Series!
Sunday August 12, 2007

Please join LUNA Chix for the Bike Agains the Odds Training Series
Ride #4. This is a no-drop ride and we will regroup at the top of
all climbs and descents. Come get some practice on the most
beautiful roads in the Peninsula.

This weeks ride is between 45-50 miles and offers some stunning
views as we ride to the coast from downtown Palo Alto. We will meet
behind Palo Alto Bicycles (between High and Emerson and just off
University). There's a big parking lot in the back and some street
parking out front.

From 101 -- take the University exit -- drive West on University.
Turn right on Emerson and then turn left into the parking lot.

From CalTrain -- you can get off at Palo Alto (1/2 block away). From
the tunnel -- head east on University (away from El Camino and
Stanford). You will see Palo Alto Bikes just off of High and
University on the left.

Meet at 7:45 am -- stock up on yummy Lunabars and get the direction
sheet.

Ride leaves at 8:00 am.

Remember this is a training ride where we are still building
endurance. We encourage you to come and have fun and practice your
climbing skills that you will need for the Bike Against the Odds.
The ride has significant climbing, but the grades are not more than
10%. We will take Old La Honda to 84 and come back up Tunitas Creek
Rd.There's a wonderful lunch stop in Pescadero where you can buy
drinks and some snacks. But don't forget lots of water, electrolyte
drinks, gels, gu, bars, and food. It can be cool on the coast, so
wear appropriate layers too.

Also you must wear a helmut, bring some ID and insurance info as
well as emergency contact info, a cell phone, patch kit, spare,
etc...

If you have any questions ask Cheryl
