Subject: [parksiderugby] Practices, B Dubbs, and Scrimmage this weekend
Hey guys, I must confess that I'm a little
disheartened by our mediocre practice attendence that
last week or two. I appreciate the guys who are
there, but there are some glaring omissions from out
practices and it's going to hurt us this Fall.
We set out this season to win Pool B and the only way
that is going to happen is dedication. I find it hard
to believe that virtually every veteran on the team
had a class today from 3:30-5:30. I understand today
was the first day of school and some people even have
work, but you've know about these practices since May.
If you scheduled all of your classes during our
practice times, then I'm disappointed. I went to
Parkside for two degrees and ALWAYS found a way to
make practices, even when I had night classes.
In any event, 24 guys at practice is nice, but we need
30-40. Please get out and recruit harder and more
often. We need at least 10-15 new guys this semester
to keep our numbers high for future seasons.
Tomorrow, practice is 4:30 - 6:30. I hope to see 30
guys there. After practice, 50 cent wings at Buffalo
Wild Wings. Plan on coming.
Saturday, we have an intrasaquad scrimmage at 1 PM at
the Parkside Rugby Field. We need to get the uprights
up and chalk the field as well. I need everyone to
the field by 11 AM. After our scrimmage, we will be
heading to Murphys for some chow.
Lastly, if you plan on playing this season, you must
read and sign a Code of Conduct form which Chris
Baumgart (Team President) has. EVERYONE must sign one
and return it to him so we can turn them into our
faculty advisor, Dr. Michael Manion. Please read the
document thoroughly and understand that you must
maintain the highest level of integrity throughout
your Parkside days to be eligible to be on the
Parkside Rugby team.
That's all for now.
See you tomorrow.
Cheers!
