After tortuous weekend negotiations with the Olympic View Elementary School playground events scheduling committee, your OVERT representatives were able to secure several more Wednesday night game days for the '07 season. So we will play this Wednesday night again at sixish. Players are advised to bring head lamps, in case the three-game goes long.
The farewell to Wednesday nights was very well attended and was a beautiful experience for me. It reminded me of playing street hockey as a child, and having to quit only because the ball became a blur to the goalies in the diminishing light. As I say, Wednesday's game was VERY well attended. And more than a few players have tapped their toes and rubbed their hands along the bottom edge of the OVERT suggestion box, signaling a not so subtle request for and extention of Wed. night games. OVERT too, may reconsider its decision to end Wednesday night games while the good weather and enthusiasm continues. We will keep you posted.
Yes John, you will see me there tonight. Another summer of roller hockey come and gone. To me, the last Wednesday night game is always emblematic of a loss at some deep level. Tonight is so important to me that I have pushed back one date, and canceled another one (does anyone really believe this?). And for you, John, it means a return to changing diapers all winter long. I hope I break my blade on the last shot of the night.

Fellow OVERT roller hockey payers, I hope this email finds you all well. It's Labor Day, a day that my father taught me to regard with the deepest suspicion. But even though I am bourgeoisie, I have only the highest regard for my proletarian roller hockey brethren. It is in this spirit of unity then, that I sadly announce the end of summer, and the last Wednesday night OVERT roller hockey game. It cannot be helped. Due to conditions beyond OVERT's control the sun is setting much earlier, and I am informed that it will continue to do so for several more months. I encourage every man-jack of you to take advantage of the last mid week out of doors roller hockey tilt of the '07 season.
Wednesday precisely at sixish o'clock in the evening.
Saturday games continue as usual until all the leaves have fallen from the trees.
Anyone intersted in playing Monday nights at Highland? We're looking to fill up the roster for 4 teams. This is non-contact, competitve, and very fun hockey, playing for the prestegious Miller Cup. All are welcome! Please reply ASAP. Price (about $220 for 13 weeks) includes beers and refs. We have committment from 4 quality goaltenders.
On a side note, sorry I've been away for so many weeks. I'm planning on being there this Saturday, though. Look forward to seeing everyone again!
I've never played in a roller hockey league. Like you guys, my roller
hockey games were held on school yards. But the website operated by the
league a couple of my friends play in this season is pretty slick. You
should check out the video highlights. The videos in the archive have
accompanying music.

Hi there folks. I am the newest member to this group.
I am currently unable to play due to injury, but I would love to come

Justin-
Thanks for your interest in the Stacked Deck Hockey Tournament.
I've
attached a flier with all of the details. Please let me know if you
have
trouble opening/viewing it.
We are full on goaltenders but still have several spots open for
skaters.
We're pretty much taking all skaters who are currently on division 7
and 8
teams in the GSHL. If you're not currently in the GSHL, you'll need
to call
me at 206 769 2465 so we can discuss whether or not you might be the
appropriate skill level for the tournament.
Ignore the mail-in part of the form.... it's too late for that
obviously.
If you want to skate, i'll need the following information:
name
email
phone number
Current team
positional preference
Payment is due tomorrow (Friday) at the rink prior to your first
game.
After you send in your information, I'll do a random draw to assign
you to a
team and email you that information so you'll know the time of your
first
game.
Cheers,
Steve
I have been coaching a roller hockey camp at Olympic View Elementary this week and the guys who have been pressure washing the building informed me that they will be closing off the whole area this weekend. If you were planning to come out Saturday you may not be able to play. Just a heads up.

olympic view ice rink is having a tournament this weekend. anyone who plays ice interested?
See what you’re getting into…before you go there See it!
First off, I wanted to thank Pete for getting me to the
hospital earlier today. Although the doctor wasn't helpful at all, I'm
glad nothing is terribly wrong, and at least I got some Vicodin out of the
deal.
For those who weren't there, I had a complete elbow
dislocation after I went down on my right arm. I'm pretty sure a lot of
you that were there got a glimpse of my bone sticking out of the back of my
elbow. The doctor claims that this isn't really possible, but the
internet and my own direct observation seem to indicate otherwise.
Obviously I won't be able to make it to the game for a
little while, but I'll definitely be back out there as soon as I can. In
the meantime, I'll be enjoying taking it easy with my pain meds. Play
safe, everybody.

Uhm. Yeah. Game on unless otherwise posted ...I'm getting lazy with
posting game on every week, sorry about that.

I am looking to purchase a few sets of wheels from
hockeywheels.com and wanted to see how much interest there would be in getting
a group buy together. Respond if you want to participate and what you
would like to get. Here's what I am looking at (the quantities are in
sets of 4):
3x 80mm Labeda Gripper Extreme
2x 72mm Labeda Gripper Extreme
I would highly recommend these wheels, but check out the
site to see if there are other wheels you'd be more interested in. They have
excellent grip and are still holding up well for me. I would estimate
that I should be able to get about eight days of skating on them. Last
time I ordered from hockeywheels.com they came out to $4/wheel shipped with
free ABEC 7 bearings. Hopefully if we get a decent order together we can
get this price down a bit and still get free bearings.
I would like to place this order sometime next week, so
please respond ASAP. If I get any responses, I will email them to see
what kind of prices we can work out and get back to everyone.
Jeffrey .... i am disappointed in your absence on the battlefield... Many lifes
including
courageous talented women had made the ultimate sacrfice playing their heart out
on the
front line and yet you are still missing in action. i have so many extra sticks
and no one to
use them.. it just brings me to ultimate misery knowing you show and interest,
yet not
provide the means in gracing overt with your presence. i really look forward in
your teachings
of the art of schooling and salute you in great respect.... i only hope you
enjoy my wondrous
