To Whom It May Concern:
I have been appointed to represent the hockey estate of Mr. Patrick Dolan. As
directed by his last Will and Testament, I have been authorized to communicate
these last pictures to his hockey email group, in accordance with his final
wishes. He desired that these photographs be circulated as evidence to prove
that he in fact did not fall through the ice in a shear act of winter safety
ignorance, but rather, simply skated off the end of the ice surface and into the
lake in the darkness of night, due to his bad habit of skating with the puck
with his head down. Witnesses to the tragedy report that his final words,
gurgled out of the darkness as he went down for the final time, contained a
mournful warning to all hockey players about the dangers of this pernicious
habit.
His will designated no OVERT successor. But among Mr. Dolan’s personal
effects was found a letter with instructions to be opened 50 years after his
demise and containing his personal reflections on many of the roller hockey
players with whom his has played.
Sincerely,
Vesuvius J. Bicker, Esq.
