Hi all.
The dust has settled and it looks like Sunday, January 24, 2010 will be a great
day to run the trails! Expect either 2 feet of snow or raging floods. Either
way should be exciting!
Details:
When: 09:00 SUNDAY January 24, 2010
What: 7.5K road and trail loop
Where: Creemore (See Creemore race on OUSER for directions)
Bring: Anything you need to run the distance you decide to run
AID: There will be one aid station with water, HEED, food
Heat: Bonfire and change room with sauna
Feet: bring snowshoes if you like. They help to pack trails!
Consider this a chance to visit with OTS/OUS friends. I'm hoping to steal
pottery from Lee Anne for prizes. Don't tell her!
Congratulations to Dave "Digger" Reid of OUS fame who won the 50-59 age group on
a very tough mountain course in the desert outside of Moab Utah. He won it
handily in a time of 5:47:42 beating out many good local mountain runners from
neighbouring Colorado.
Kendra Olsen, Haliburton 50K 09 Champ also had a stellar day with a 7:17
finish.
I managed to shuffle in at 6:51.
Great race and venue.

This morning I created a new and improved (harder) PYP race course. I am
going back to the old Ganaraska format of 25km loop and moving the
start/finish back to Horseshoe Valley Cross Country (if they approve the
race). This is not the same course as Ganaraska. Sunday I will be
running the loop to all those interested in a nice fall morning of
running. Keep in mind that the trails are not marked so you will have to
follow me around for 25km. Sunday 8:30 Horseshoe cross country.

Adam: Do we have to run at your speed on Sunday? My motocross is in the shop!
I like the concept of 25K loop as I don't have enough energy to run 4 loops.

Hey Tony, Diane et al.
I knew the dates were close to colliding! I would like to move the fun run in
Creemore to 2010-01-09 because I will be wine tasting on January 16.
FYI: I have not yet confirmed, but the Base Borden 50K races will be January 31
and February 28. Hope to have details at the Creemore fun run.
Cheers!

College. I am working to have their culinary school provide food and hopefully a
wine tasting at their winery. It will be used to benefit Prostate Cancer in some
way and should be fairly cost friendly as well. Will be similar in benefits to
the Niagara Ultra except this time you don't sweat your ## off and don't get to
spend as much time on the asphalt. Should have final details in the next week or
so but hope to get as many of the OUS gang out but if you are doing the Creemore
thing, maybe consider the week after. Thanks.

Hey Pierre!
Great idea. Tony Power has a trail shin-ding in the works too - I believe
it's for that same weekend - Jan.16th. I know we'd (H & me) be interested in
both. Not to make things difficult, but our club has a fat-ass style
marathon & half the weekend before - jan.9th.
