Henri and I did the Big Sur Trail Marathon last Sunday and wow-wee! Yes,
yes, it's only 42.2k, but absolutely worth a weekend jaunt to California's
beaudacious coastline.
It's some 5700 feet of elevation with majestic views at every corner. And
for those who can't contain their excitement over mountain running, this
race will certainly have you more than stoked! It's actually old dirt
roads, not traditional trail. But the opportunity to rip down some steeps
(and up again) is everywhere.
Top notch event and true "laid back" style - no chip time, lots of humour,
camaraderie etc. etc. - that's found in the ultra/trail scene.
Good to hear from you. Sounds like you are having a grand time on
the west coast. Bring back a mountain for the Dirty Girls course!
