Hey all. What's the fastest DNF at a 50K? I could not walk after a 7K
last night as the ankle I hurt at Niagara is misbehaving. Mind you, it
held up for 43K at DG, so I'm game to try! Definition of a long
distance runner is an optimist on Advil...

If ultra running benefitted from being mentally unstable, I'd be
winning the events! Thanks for the well wishes Derrick and Jim. I
plan to simply enjoy the run and not worry about finishing. I blame my
previous entry on Saturday's run. I experienced severe pain from 15K
to 23K, which is not ideal 1 week before a race...

Pierre, you did amazing at Haliburton brother! Maybe I should have
some injuries too so I could keep up to you (LOL). I'm seriously
contemplating running with a map from now to avoid getting lost at
these races......

Finishing Hali is doing great! I almost feel disapointed. I couldn't
walk on my ankle after 7K on Wednesday, so I had my DNF all mapped
out: It would start hurting about 10K and I would stop at the 15K aid
station. But my ankle "let me down" and I had to keep going (Damn! A
DF!). It just shows you can't predict anything in these races! I got
lost twice (did 51K) although the marking was very good. Helen should
have someone hit me with a hammer at the turns...
