IAU Trail World Challenge Serre Chevalier July 12th 2009 (Nadeem Khan, 10 May)
Where can you get a perfect combination of a top notch event, scenic beautiful
environment, pristine trails, world-class field and an organization that is
second to none?
2nd IAU Trail World Challenge, packaged as your third event for this year, is
all of this and more. This picturesque race takes place on July 12th 2009 in the
French Alpine region.
The French Athletic Federation, the Local Organizing Committee and the IAU are
working hard together on the logistics to provide the best racing facilities for
our member federations and athletes.
Unlike our earlier race in this edition (Sunmart 50 Mile), Serre Chevalier is a
course has a lot more valleys and peaks and runs through the French Alpine
region.
Route stays on the Grande Randonnee (walking) trail that links the Guisane
Valley with the Claree Valley passing through the Cerces Massif via the summit
of the Galibier (2642 m), the Col des Beraudes (2895 m) and the Col de Buffere
(2427 m) near the Ecrins National Park.
The travel grant for participating federations is based on the travel distance
to the venue.
More information will be available as we get closer to the race date.
We are looking forward to receiving the entry forms from our member federations
and welcoming you at this amazing race.
In the meantime if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
