I've spent 2 days clearing trail with a whipper snipper, shears, bow saw and
lawn mower. My legs are green. One trail left to do! A less than welcome
addition this year is a beaver damn that has created a lake at the first creek
crossing (5.5K point). I have cut the trail OVER the beaver dam so nobody has
to wade through a lake. Extra points for anyone who hands in a beaver pelt at
the finish line.
For balance, there is now a large black culvert across the marsh crossing (21.5K
in the valley), curtesy of the snowmobile club. You may have observed that I
don't like to get my shoes wet!
Also, Ccerlii (pronounced Shirley) is a shiatsu therapist who will most likely
be on site for massages. Please show your appreciation to Ccerlii as I can
think of no better addition to a hill run!
First place finishers (there are 16) will have an option other than large bowls
for the kaolinite component of the prize package. Although it is probably not
too hard to figure out, I will keep it a secret to provide some suspense this
close to race date.
Looking forward, there will again be an unacceptable 4 week gap between OTS and
OUS events after Creemore. I won't be blaming anyone by name (oh! He knows who
he is!) but keep in mind that Dirty Girls is capped at 150, so delay registering
at your risk!
