I agree with Derrick. Smaller is better when it comes to running in snowshoes. I
have an older pair of Atlas shoes that are about 22 inches by eight and a half.
They weigh a little over a pound each. I have run in up to six inches of snow.
There is no float with these shoes so the more packed the trail the better. It
is a great workout.
I would join you for a run on your trails Pierre.
I am trying to contact a Mike Pidwerbecki of the Ganaraska Trail Assoc(Orillia
section) re doing a race there in January.
Huntsville has a ski loppet in late January also. I am talking to them about
also offering a couple of snowshoe races. One would be 3 to 5km, the other 6 to
10km. Who would also be interested in this?
We also could make some good trails near my house. We live about 5 km west of
Huntsville.

I'll have to check out the Dion snow shoes. Can you get 5 of them? (Dion
quintuplets...) I've logged about 400 hours on my Chubbs thanks to making maple
syrup, so running in them is not an option.Do you need groomed trails for the
Dions? My neighbors and I have a closed trail system through about 500 acres
near Collingwood. We should meet for a fun run. There is normally a snowmobile
track laid down by the neighbors. Right now there is 1.5 feet of snow!--- In
